Original Lighting Upgraded Lighting The Original HID fixture (left) consumed 462 watts. The replacement high-output T-5 lamp fixture consumes only 238 watts while providing over four times the illumination.
				This retrofit replaced 462-watt HID fixtures with 238-watt, high-output T-5 lamp fixtures including (mirror type) specular reflectors and electronic ballasts. The change increased illumination in the aisles from an average of 4 foot candles to 18 foot candles measured at 5 ft. above the floor. In this case, the customer saved 224 watts on each of 258 fixtures upgraded. Business calculations show this change provides annual savings of $20,380 with an ROI of 24.69% and a payback on electricity savings of 48 months.
