The retrofit job placed two, 4-ft., F32T-8 lamps end-to-end in the 8-ft. fixtures with mirror-type, polished aluminum reflectors and electronic ballasts. The 2-lamp, 8-ft. fixtures were fitted with four 4-ft., F32T-8 lamps and bright white reflectors. All the new lamps were rated at 24,000 hours. They used less electricity and provided high-color-rendering lighting quality.
In this case, the customer saved 122,218 watts and well over $56,000 in annual electrical costs on prevailing rates. Light levels measured at a standard 30 inches above the floor were double the original levels. |

Looking across the aisles (left), you can see the brighter retrofit area in the back. This upgrade doubled the light levels improving pallet label visibility and productivity. If this retrofit had been financed through one of the available energy funds, the customer could have received a 36-month program with a positive cash flow of $541.95 per month from the date of installation. |
