Imperial Lighting was contacted by a local shipping facility that needed lighting service due to a fire in one of the old lighting fixtures. After surveying the space, we discovered that the existing light fixtures were not only in bad shape, but provided an excellent opportunity for an LED lighting upgrade project.
Imperial Lighting proposed upgrading the facility’s 250W metal halide 2×2 fixtures with 40W LED flat panel fixtures. This represented a total fixture wattage reduction of 27,285 watts. Aside from the significant energy cost savings this reduction provides, the customer was able to save on additional project costs due to ComEd incentive rebates available for these types of lighting upgrades.
As you can see from the photos, following the upgrade the facility saw a vast improvement in the quality of lighting, which will likely lead to more efficient mail/package sorting, fewer errors, and increased worker productivity and satisfaction. They also will save significantly on ongoing energy and lighting maintenance costs, while eliminating future risk of safety issues due to failing and outdated lighting fixtures.
